Our seeds have now arrived from D T Brown, a delightful company to deal with, and planting has begun. Peas, cress, radish, spring onions, tomatoes, spinach, lettuce. and rocket, named :Rocket Artemis F1. When I pointed out to Lynne that the Artemis programme is NASA's current Moon mission and F1 engines powered the first stage of the Saturn V in the Apollo era, I was met with 'You're obsessed man!' Oh well.
We also have Nasturtiums and Love in a Mist.
But we're not the only ones planting:
On our walk yesterday we came across this painted stone placed by the fence. Nice touch from someone. Thanks.
I'm beginning to think that a Twitter account might be better suited during the current restrictions than a blog. It's probably a better place to say nothing very much.
My birthday tomorrow, normally spent on a hill, but our usual walk will have to do.
I've been popping in fairly regularly but have not commented. Sorry about that.
ReplyDeleteHave a splendid day tomorrow, Sir!
Hello Alan - very kind of you, thanks. Commenting on posts does seem to have become less common these days and not just on this blog. I'm as guilty as anyone of reading a post and not commenting, if 'guilty' is the right word.
DeleteRegarding Loch Beanie, I decided that the possible explanation for the name wasn't really all that illuminating and raised as many questions as it answered, so didn't post the comment again.
I hope you are not finding this lockdown too hard and are taking good care of yourself. Post something. Go on!
Many Happy returns assuming I have got the day right.
ReplyDeleteThat fence wire in the grass brings back memories of the one I tripped over breaking my arm up above Weardale. Mine was more hidden in the grass than that but it could become a hazard in time.
May all your seeds come to fruition.
Sir Hugh - many thanks for your good wishes. There's no danger of tripping over the wire, as the additional photo shows, but I can see how you might think so from the original one.
DeleteWe are hopeful of a decent crop for our efforts.
Belated birthday greetings, Gibson, and may all your plants prosper!
ReplyDeleteThanks Martin. Our seeds are prospering already,
