I've not had time to post about our trip to Rum in May/June so here are some photograph at smugmug

We've never been to Rum. What a beautiful place. Loved the slideshow.
Excellent Gibson. Brought back happy memories.
How absolutely splendid! Quite a few of those hills look a bit too giddy for me, but who knows? In such fabulous weather, too!
I did like to the look of the one described as "an easy stroll over to..." Might just manage that one...
:-)
Go Alan, you won't regret it. The problem is of course being in the area when good weather arrives. We camped as you know but the £1m bunkhouse got a great review from some Swiss people we met but with only one double room, booking in advance would be essential.
Glad you liked the photographs - half of those we took were nearly lost with the camera!
There are plenty of great backpacking opportunities of course.
Thanks Martin. Happy to oblige with the the memories!
Thank you Alan. I'm sure you'd have no problems whatsoever with the Rum hills. All the unavoidable bits of scrambling are easy. All in all about 6000ft of ascent - more for me as I had to ascend back up a fair way in search of a lost camera.
Go on, visit next summer.
Some cracking shots there, Gibson; and plenty of blue skies too!
How do you find Smugmug from a user's perspective? I'm looking for an online photo storage application and, much as I like using Apple's hardware, I get the feeling that iCloud just asks for too much personal information in return for its facilities. I just want something simple and as anonymous as it's possible to be when using an online facility.
We're looking at the possibility of a week in the west, maybe next year. I know you need a bit of luck with the weather to get the best out of it, but that's the one variable that can't be controlled.
Good to hear from you Dave. The Rum trip was one of the best we've had in a while but too short.
I've used Smugmug (Power account) for about five years and find it easy to use now that I can find my way around the updated version. I think you can still have a free trial of the basic account. If you send me your email address (which I appear to have lost) I can give you more details about the features I find most useful.
I like your new blog - looks very professional.
Hi Gibson,
Thanks, I'm learning more about Wordpress as time goes on, but I'm still struggling with things like precise placement and sizing of pictures in posts. The software seems to want to keep a certain amount of control and they don't always look exactly as I'd intended.
Thanks for the offer of help, that was most kind. I'm actually just signed up for a free trial of Smugmug (14 days, from memory), so I've taken the initial plunge.
