To Pool of Muckhart and Seamab Hill

Thursday 8 January

There hasn't been any more significant snow here for a few days, although flakes are gently falling again this morning. We haven't bothered to drive anywhere in case parking is still as difficult and decided to walk from home to Seamab Hill above Pool of Muckhart. An enjoyable 8 mile trip. Here are a few pics.

Howdy!

I absolutely *love* your photos on Picasa. They're quite gorgeous!

Are you using a digital on automatic, or are you doing the cunning settings yourself? If the latter, care to share any tips? I never seem to get it right.

I also very much like the elegant design and colour scheme of this page. It's a pleasure to come here.

Hi there

Thank you ever so much. That's very kind of you to say so. Are you talking about the present design or the 'blue' one?!

I'm using a Canon IXUS 980IS on automatic most of the time since it's relatively new and I'm still familiarising myself with it. The Mamores were taken using an old Sony Cybershot on automatic. Many of the pics are taken by Lynne anyway!

Your photos look stunning to me so you must be doing something right - just keep them coming.

Hi there - Just found your blog (via Laura's)

I agree with PW - fantastic pictures - particularly the ones in Letterewe. I need to get back up there - it's been almost three years now...

Looking forward to hearing more from you.
All the best
Alan

Hello there - Many thanks for the comments and glad you liked the Letterewe pictures.

I'm slowly getting more onto picasa but I'm currently experimenting with Smugmug on a 14 day trial, so may move them all there.

Our first trip to Letterewe was in 1981, would you believe, when we didn't meet anyone going in, on our high camp on A'Mhaighdean or on the way out. Different this time but still unspoiled as you'll know.

We've very much enjoyed following your TGO crossings, associated photos and posts on the Message Board. Always cheered us up.

All the best - and expect us on your blog!

Hello!

I particularly like the current design i.e. the one with the creamy sort of background.

I was always keen to get a Cannon IXUS, but I'm coming to the conclusion that it's more what people can do with the camera than the camera itself. Thank you for your kind words about my pics, but they're very definitely pedestrian. Yours aren't, though. Kudos to you and Lynne ♥

Hello again

We're keeping this design. Given the opportunity, I'm a terrible fiddler with layouts and colour combinations. Sad, right?

I think we all tend to judge our own pics more harshly than those of others. The IXUS is a good little camera though.
