Gabriel and Stanley -Video
As a lover of dogs and cats (the latter don't love you back as much it seems to me) this video appealed enormously. It had a happy ending! I don't seem to be able to upload it here so it's on Gabriel and Stanley
What a great video even for those who are a bit sensitive about sentimentality. It is so obviously genuine and makes one wonder about the stance that everything in nature is motivated by self interest and the need to promote one’s genes – these two are just having fun for the sake of it and the obvious friendship can have nothing to do with the possibility of reproduction.
Your picture of A’Mhaighdean etc is magnificent and in contrast to the non existent view when I backpacked round Fisherfield in the 80s. I did have a more pleasant experience on my LEJOG walk (2008) over on the other side with a memorable wild camp on the side of Loch an Nid.
We're pleased you enjoyed it Sir Hugh and agree with your observations. We found it very uplifting to see, as you say, the obvious friendship between them and the fun they were having.
Thanks for your kind words regarding the photograph. We've always been lucky with weather on trips into Letterewe, Fisherfield etc and our camp, high on A'Mhaighdean, in 1981 was one of the finest we've ever had.
We will be travelling through here on a long trip planned for 2011 so sincerely hope that our good fortune doesn't abandon us then.
Indeed so, but I can't claim to have found it. My brother emailed it to me around Christmas knowing I have a weakness for this sort of thing. Glad you liked it.
Just popping oevr to your blog with a few names to conjure with.
This has to be the truly loveliest cat/dog video I've *ever* seen! I just love the way Stanley clearly wants to play, and provokes Gabriel into a response. And the way they cuddle up together at the end. Truly uplifting stuff ♥
Oh noes... after posting I went to watch but couldn't make it work. Clearly Sir Hugh and Alan saw it, though. Is it currently broken, or is it just me? (I want my pal Dee to see it!)

How are you getting on with your iPhone?
It's good to find little gems like that from time to time!
