Symington's Mug Shot

We discovered these last year in Morrisons and found they made quite a good lunch time snack when backpacking. A sachet weighs 68g and provides 301kcal. Empty into a mug, add boiling water and allow to stand for 5 mins (we find a bit longer is required) and we usually add a Butter Bud. We've only tried the Creamy Cheese one, but others are available.

  2. Hi Alan

Hope you find them acceptable but it's all a matter of taste of course - and how hungry you are! As you may know, Symingtons supplied Scott's Discovery Antartic Expedition with pea flour and when discovered 50 years later, it was still in perfect condition. (www.symingtons.co.uk)

  3. Hi Gibson,
No i wasn't aware of that fact. Just a couple of weeks would do me. I'm sure they will cope.

  5. Hi Gibson,
Went on the hunt for these today and i found them in Tesco. They were 4 packets for £1.50. So i got 8.
    Cannot grumble at that.

Thanks again for sharing the info. I will let you know what we thought of them forthwith.

  6. Hi Gibson,
Well the mug shots proved to be excellent. We had 4 different types and we have no complaints about any.
    Ideal for a quick stop.
We complemented them with either a few biscuits or a piece of fruit and that was enough for lunch.
    Great stuff. Thanks again.
