'Overambitious' Scottish renewable energy plans

A brief BBC report can be found here. Could the tide be turning?

Up until recently it was only the small boys who were pointing excitedly at King Alex's total lack of clothing.

Now, it's the bigger boys; the captains of industry, the professional bodies and perhaps, at long last, the Scottish Labour Party who are realising that the rush for wind energy will be pushing more and more of the least well off deeper into fuel poverty.

It's desperately last minute stuff.

Renewables seems to be the latest taboo which, at last, finally dares to speak its name. It's still all a bit tentative at the moment, but there are signs that it's becoming okay to talk about this stuff openly, maybe even critically.

As Alan says, it's late in the day; it'll be interesting to see if things gather a bit of pace. Perhaps a few more with real influence will find their voices.
