Just for the record - first real snow in garden

Posted for no other reason than to note the event! And more has fallen since this was taken.

In my garden too. Lochnagar looks as though it has good covering....

Gibson, I was walking out in a blizzard today in the Peak District. Winter has come - well at least for a few days :)

Today's weather (at the south-western extremity of the west midlands) has been - to use a non-meteorological term - bloody miserable. I fear we are in for one of those spells of clinging dampness which has been known to last an entire winter in these parts.

Hope not: cold I can manage; endless days of grey skies and clinging damp make me want to use unsuitable language.

Laura - did you nip home for a look?!

Mark - just had a look. Looks like winter is sticking around for at least a week here. Wonderful!

Byeways - Give me this cold, crisp winter weather any day over what you describe. 'My' blackbirds were waiting outside the back door of the garage this morning waiting for their 'Haiths'. And as usual, one followed me in to ensure that I've got their (or at least *his* best interests at heart!

I'm a Haiths customer as well, Gibson. There's snow on the Clees (the high point of Shropshire) this morning; just a dusting but I'd be very tempted if I wasn't already committed to putting the second coat of Emulsion on the kitchen ceiling.
