Zamberlan Ultralite GTX - First outing

There's not much to say really. We sploshed through water, mud and slush, over tussocky hillsides, old hard snow and descended steep slopes; even some pounding of tarmac was required. The boots didn't feel like 'old friends' of course, but they were comfortable and felt light on the feet and you can't ask more than that really. We'd want to have a few more days out in them before wearing on a long trip, but that's purely precautionary.

Sorry Laura. I was experimenting with the new templates which seemed to cause havoc!

Hi you didn't mention these again and I'm left wondering if they fared well over time? Did they cope with higher level stuff, scrambling etc?

I've not used them all that much Laurence. That's is no reflection on the boots, which were very comfortable and kept my feet dry and warm in wet, snowy conditions. However, except for proper winter conditions I prefer trail shoes (Keen Targhee II) or Targhee II mids boots both of which are also fine for scrambling, although even lighter shoes with thinner soles would be better and give more feel for the rock. Sorry if this isn't of much help Laurence. All the best.
