Midges
For anyone worrying about midges on their next backpacking trip to Scotland, but not too worried about weight, here's the very thing seen by Loch Morar:
I have watched them crawling through the mesh of the fly screens of my caravan windows. I hope the designers of the Loch Morar item have not succumbed to the same design fault.
The Odyssee - come to think of it I thinks the small versions are called Midge Hoods!
Sir Hugh - I've had the same experience but we were able to get close enough to see that the screen looked more like the mesh on a midge hood than the useless stuff on caravans and motorcaravans.

Wonder if they do a pocket version.
You're an engineer so I wait with interest for the product launch! Don't forget you saw it here first when it comes to sharing royalties Alan!
I think Ray Mears may have one already in his Bergen.
