East

We've escaped the influence of the western weather by driving to St Andrews, a fairly regular haunt, where it's a sunny, invigorating day.

I love the place and spent some of the happiest years of my life here as a student.

We are now at the Museum of the University of St Andrews where there is, among many other things of interest, a cast of the head of Pedro de Luna, Pope Benedict XIII who granted the Charter of Incorporation to the University in 1413.Preparations are well underway to celebrate the 600 year anniversary.

From the viewing gallery I can see The Bell Rock Lighthouse built 1807 - 1811, 11 miles off the Angus coast. This is our first visit to MUSA and we'll be back - there is so much to see and learn.
Some coffee now then home after an interesting day out.

I passed through there too quickly on my Fife Coastal Walk last April. That was an enjoyable trip, and your post sent me back to an enjoyable browse through my photos again and comments awakening the memory of the taste of Eradour at The Upper Largo Hotel.

Hello Conrad

I well remember following your posts when you were on your 'Fife Coastal' and I'm glad my offering brought back happy memories.Edradour is a fine malt but it's a long time since I tasted it. I must put that right soon! Any word of your op?

Not yet. I have had the pre-op assessment and await an appointment. I am occupying myself writing my new Lulu project and riding the bike when weather permits. I'm currently reading Captain Scott by Ranulph Fiennes which, so far, seems to be putting the whole Scott saga into a much more balanced perspective as well as being very readable. It's great to have someone who knows what he is talking about, rather than media types who often write their stuff based on fanciful imagination.
